SWEP of Greater Philadelphia will hold a Technical Program and Facility Tour on Waste Disposal and Beneficial Use for Site Remediation Projects

Classroom Presentation at Keystone Industrial Port Complex (KIPC) and  Facility Tour at Clean Earth of Southeast Pennsylvania

12:00 noon to 1:30 pm  Classroom Presentation: Waste disposal can be one of the most difficult steps in successfully completing a remediation project. During this program Clean Earth will discuss: Project set-up considerations; Development and implementation of a successful waste characterization plan; Sample collection methods and spatial layout; Waste Disposal vs. Beneficial Use options; Regulatory compliance considerations; Generator responsibility and liability;  Waste management and processing considerations; Documentation requirements; Identification of potential roadblocks and pitfalls with associated risks; Additional steps and guidance to minimize project challenges and maintain project schedules, budgets, and environmental regulatory requirements.

2:00 pm to 3:00  pm Facility Tour:  A facility tour of Clean Earth of Southeast Pennsylvania (located in Morrisville, PA), including: Basic understanding of low temperature thermal desorption process; Understanding of how soil conditions effect treatment (e.g., excess debris, high moisture, clay content, odors, additives, etc); and Tour of the operating plant.  

Dress Requirements for Facility Tour: Jeans, steel-toed work boots or work shoes for tour participation.  
Clean Earth will provide: Safety hats, vests, and glasses for the tour.
